Import Manager
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the end-to-end import process including order placement, shipment tracking, and customs clearance.
- Coordinate with suppliers and shipping agents to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Monitor and address any issues related to shipment delays, discrepancies, or quality.
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate terms and conditions to achieve the best value for the Company.
- Work closely with other departments such as procurement, production, and finance to ensure alignment and support Organizational goals.
Applicant should possess:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain Management, logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in import Management or related roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of import regulations, customs procedures, and international trade laws.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptability to changing business needs and a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and import Management software would be an added advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability work with modern ERP systems.
- Working relationship with Import Control Department.
- Knowledge of the trade.
