Senior Executive - Subsea Cable Systems and CLS Operations

Job Purpose
We are looking for a highly motivated and technically competent Senior Executive – Subsea Cable Systems & CLS Operations to manage the end-to-end operations, maintenance, and availability of our Cable Landing Stations (CLS). This role is critical in ensuring SLA compliance with international submarine cable consortium partners while maintaining high service reliability across multiple global cable systems.

You will provide onsite operational leadership, collaborate closely with international Submarine Main Network Operations Centres (MNOC) in the UK and India, and work with CLS teams across regions including India, Malaysia, UAE, Oman, Singapore, and Maldives.

The Job
  • Oversee 24/7 operation and maintenance of Cable Landing Station facilities and submarine cable systems to ensure high availability and SLA compliance.
  • Coordinate fault isolation, incident management, and restoration activities in collaboration with international MNOCs.
  • Prepare and issue accurate Trouble Tickets and Reason for Outage (RFO) reports within agreed timelines.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of CLS critical infrastructure including generators, UPSs, battery banks, rectifiers, air-conditioning systems, and power distribution boards.
  • Support new international circuits and submarine cable activations including fiber laying, patching, testing, commissioning, and validation.
  • Manage vendor, consortium partner, and internal team site access while ensuring full compliance with safety and security standards.
  • Execute and supervise land route fiber jointing and maintenance activities in compliance with technical standards and safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for preventive and corrective maintenance along the cable land route.
  • Identify risks to cable integrity and recommend preventive or corrective measures.
  • Provide Level-1 operational support for IPLC services, including end-to-end troubleshooting and restoration.
  • Coordinate with international service providers and internal stakeholders to resolve faults and minimize service disruption.
  • Prepare daily, monthly, and annual operational reports for consortium partners, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of CLS equipment, tools, and spares.
  • Monitor RMA processes faulty equipment to ensure operational readiness.

Entry Requirements
The Person
  • NVQ Level 5 / IVQ Level 5 (mandatory), such as:
    • City & Guilds Advanced Diploma
    • HNDE / NDT / NDES
    • Diploma in Technology (OUSL)
    • Advanced Diploma in Telecommunications / Electrical / Electronics / Construction Technology
  • Minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience in Telecommunications, Electrical, or Electronics engineering roles.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • DWDM transmission technologies
    • Fiber optic systems
    • Subsea cable systems and CLS infrastructure
