Senior Lead - DevOps
Job Purpose:
The Senior Cloud DevOps Lead is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and operational excellence of DevOps practices across the organization. This role goes beyond hands-on engineering, providing technical leadership, governance, and team oversight to ensure consistent adoption of DevOps principles, CI/CD automation, and cloud-native delivery models. By guiding DevOps engineers and collaborating with architects, software developers, and security teams, the Senior DevOps Lead ensures that our fintech and telco platforms are delivered with speed, reliability, security, and regulatory compliance. This position plays a central role in driving DevOps maturity, enabling continuous delivery, and building a high-performing engineering culture.

- Define and enforce DevOps standards, processes, and best practices for CI/CD, observability, and cloud operations.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to DevOps engineers, enabling career growth and skill development.
- Act as a bridge between architects, developers, and operations, ensuring alignment on delivery models.
- Lead the design and rollout of CI/CD frameworks integrated into microservices and containerized environments (EKS/Kubernetes).
- Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation/Ansible) for scalable and repeatable deployments.
- Oversee automated monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks to ensure system reliability and availability.
- Guide cloud infrastructure improvements in AWS (and hybrid environments) with focus on cost, performance, and resilience.
- Ensure DevSecOps practices are embedded in pipelines, including static/dynamic code analysis, secrets management, and vulnerability scanning.
- Partner with InfoSec to implement compliance and regulatory controls required in fintech and telco domains.
- Lead audits and security reviews from a DevOps and platform perspective.
- Knowledge of AI-driven workflow orchestration (smart CI/CD pipelines, predictive build/test optimization).
- Experience with AI copilots for code reviews, scripting, and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with emerging AIOps practices for real-time incident management and capacity planning.
- Advocates for responsible AI usage — balancing efficiency with explainability and compliance.
- Establish and track DevOps maturity KPIs (deployment frequency, change failure rate, MTTR, etc.).
- Lead initiatives to optimize release cycles, reduce operational toil, and improve reliability.
- Introduce emerging DevOps practices and tools (service mesh, GitOps, chaos engineering) where relevant.
The Person
- BSc in Engineering or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps or related roles.
- Deep expertise in CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab, ArgoCD).
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration in production.
- Proficiency in IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
- Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, OpenTelemetry).
- Hands-on understanding of cloud security, networking, and cost optimization.
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence without direct authority.
- Strong coaching and mentoring capability.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
