Bar Captain | Midigama

Paradise Cove is a high-end beachfront restaurant and lounge in Midigama, blending refined dining with a vibrant beach lifestyle. We are seeking a Bar Captain to lead the bar team, ensuring smooth operations, exceptional service, and a luxury guest experience. This role combines hands-on guest engagement with full operational responsibility for one of the most dynamic areas of the venue.

Why Join Us?
At Paradise Cove, you won’t just be running a bar — you’ll be leading the heart of our beachfront lounge experience.

As Bar Captain, you’ll:
  • Take charge of a high-profile bar team in a luxury hospitality setting.
  • Work with premium spirits, wines, and craft cocktails, with room to innovate and refine menus.
  • Build leadership skills while training and guiding bartenders to deliver exceptional service.
  • Be part of a dynamic, international team where professional growth and recognition are priorities.
  • Enjoy the unique atmosphere of a luxury beachfront destination, where elegance meets laid-back coastal charm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily bar operations, ensuring the team delivers efficient, polished, and guest-focused service.
  • Act as the primary host of the bar — greeting guests, recommending drinks, and ensuring a personal, high-touch experience.
  • Train, supervise, and motivate bartenders and barbacks, maintaining consistent service and presentation standards.
  • Manage bar inventory, ordering, stock control, and supplier coordination to ensure availability of premium spirits and ingredients.
  • Maintain cost control through accurate portioning, waste management, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and licensing standards at all times.
  • Support event operations (beach parties, private dinners, VIP experiences) with bar setup and execution.
  • Collaborate with restaurant leadership to align bar service with overall guest flow and operational goals.
  • Prepare shift reports and updates for management, highlighting performance, challenges, and guest feedback.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ bar experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Proven ability to balance service leadership (guest-facing excellence) with operational control (systems, stock, reporting).
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, and bar operations in a luxury or high-volume environment.
  • Fluent English is a must (spoken and written) for guest communication; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a motivating, professional presence.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and busy seasonal periods.
