Inventory Controller

Purpose:
To ensure inventory accuracy, stock integrity, and transaction compliance within assigned warehouse zones by monitoring and verifying all inventory movements related to receiving, put-away, storage, replenishment, picking, dispatch, and stock transfers. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting customer inventory visibility requirements.

Responsibilities:

Receiving Verification
  • Verify received quantities against supplier and customer documentation.
  • Confirm Goods Receipt Note (GRN) accuracy.
  • Ensure all received stock is correctly recorded in the WMS.
  • Report receiving discrepancies immediately.

Put-away Verification
  • Verify correct storage locations are assigned.
  • Ensure pallet movements are completed according to WMS instructions.
  • Confirm location accuracy and storage compliance.
  • Monitor FIFO / FEFO implementation where applicable.

Picking Verification
  • Validate order picking accuracy.
  • Verify picked quantities against customer orders.
  • Monitor picking discrepancies and initiate corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with customer-specific picking requirements.

Dispatch Verification
  • Verify dispatch quantities against delivery documentation.
  • Confirm outbound transactions are accurately completed in the WMS.
  • Ensure customer orders are dispatched accurately and on time.
  • Verify vehicle loading accuracy.

Inventory Control Activities
  • Conduct scheduled cycle counts.
  • Perform location audits and stock verification activities.
  • Investigate stock discrepancies and inventory variances.
  • Monitor stock transfers and replenishment transactions.
  • Support customer stock counts and annual inventory audits.
  • Verify inventory adjustments prior to system updates.
  • Maintain inventory records and supporting documentation.

Reporting & Compliance
  • Prepare inventory variance reports.
  • Report stock discrepancies and operational exceptions.
  • Support inventory KPI monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with inventory control procedures and SOPs.
  • Assist with customer inventory reporting requirements.
