Acting Branch Manager - Maharagama / Gampaha
The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) and its subsidiaries are licensed as Market Institutions by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) under the SEC Act No. 19 of 2021. The CSE Group provides services to a wide array of stakeholders, including the Trading Participants, Listed Entities, Depository Participants and Clearing Members, as a capital market infrastructure provider.
Position Overview:
The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) is seeking dynamic and results-driven professionals to lead and support branch operations. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing branch operations, enhancing investor awareness, expanding the regional investor base, and supporting the development of the capital market within the region. This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to plan and implement investor education and outreach initiatives while ensuring the smooth functioning of branch operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Management, Marketing, Commerce, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- A Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Marketing, Management, Economics, Business Development, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of capital markets and investment concepts.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Sinhala.
- Proficiency in Tamil will be an added advantage.
- Good understanding of regional demographics, market trends, and investor behavior.
- Strong leadership, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
- Candidates residing in close proximity to the branch location will be given preference.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement investor education programmes for existing and prospective investors to enhance awareness and knowledge of investing in securities through the CSE.
- Manage and oversee the administrative and operational functions of the branch.
- Assess the current level of awareness of capital market investment within the region and organize awareness initiatives such as seminars, school visits, trade fairs, and exhibitions.
- Develop and execute initiatives to grow and sustain the regional investor base.
- Provide insights on regional trends and market dynamics to support planning and decision-making.
- Ensure the financial viability and sustainability of the branch by driving initiatives that contribute to profitability, turnover generation, and business growth within the region.
- Liaise and collaborate with the Marketing Division in executing promotional and investor outreach activities within the region.
- Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and market participants.
- Ensure that investor inquiries and complaints are addressed promptly and professionally.
- Lead, supervise, and develop the branch team, ensuring effective delegation of duties and performance management.
- Perform any other responsibilities assigned to support the operational needs of the Colombo Stock Exchange.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
