ROLE IMPACT
- Build the HR function from the ground up and drive a high-performance people culture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
STRATEGIC HR LEADERSHIP
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals and drive a high-performance culture.
TALENT ACQUISITION & WORKFORCE PLANNING
- Lead end-to-end recruitment and workforce planning for all levels from shopfloor to senior management.
INDUSTRIAL & EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
- Manage employee relations, grievances, disciplinary processes and union engagement effectively.
COMPLIANCE & LABOUR LAW
- Ensure full compliance with Sri Lankan labour laws, EPF/ETF regulations and statutory requirements.
LEARNING & PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
- Implement performance management systems and drive training & development initiatives.
COMPENSATION & HR ADMINISTRATION
- Oversee compensation, payroll, benefits, HRIS and all HR administrative functions.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 8-10 years in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
- Demonstrable expertise in Sri Lankan labour law, EPF/ETF and statutory compliance.
- Proven experience managing industrial/employee relations in a unionised or semi-unionised setting.
- Experience in setting up HR functions in a greenfield or startup manufacturing operation is a strong advantage.
- Strong experience in blue-collar and white-collar recruitment.
PREFERRED
- Professional certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM, CIPD).
- Experience in the cement, construction materials, or building products industry.
- Proficiency in HRIS/HR software platforms.
