Research Assistant - Faculty of Technology Department of Applied Electronics

We are seeking passionate, organized, and dedicated individuals to join our academic team as Teaching Assistants and Research Assistants. Successful candidates will contribute to excellence in teaching, learning, and research by supporting academic instruction, student engagement, and research activities within their respective disciplines.

THE ROLE
  • Assist academic staff in conducting research, including designing and testing prototypes, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing technical reports.
  • Support research publications, grant-funded projects, and undergraduate research activities while maintaining laboratory equipment and adhering to safety procedures.
  • Participate in research meetings, seminars, and workshops, and undertake other research-related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
  • A Bachelor's Degree with Honors (First Class or Second Class - Upper Division) from a recognized university in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Electronics, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong academic background with knowledge of electronic circuit design, embedded systems, and microcontroller programming.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators. 
  • Basic knowledge of PCB design, soldering, and electronic hardware prototyping.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or MATLAB is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad, Proteus, or similar) is desirable.
  • Experience in research projects, final-year projects, publications, or technical competitions will be considered an added advantage.
  • Ability to conduct literature reviews, collect and analyze research data, and prepare technical reports.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research team.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
