JOB SUMMARY
To initiate, lead, and manage the growth of the Deposit portfolio through strategic business development, marketing promotions, and product innovation. The role focuses on maximizing fund mobilization while minimizing cost of funds, maintaining net interest margins, and spearheading the digitization of the mobilization process.
JOB PROFILE
- Implement the Company's strategy on Deposit mobilization across the branch network to achieve pre-determined targets and objectives.
- Formulate and implement business plans for identified target markets to drive high volumes of new deposits from individuals and corporate sectors.
- Spearhead the digitization of the Deposit mobilization process.
- Innovate and develop attractive, value-added products in collaboration with the Marketing Department.
- Identify new market segments and develop strong relationships with corporate clients and high-value depositors.
- Maintain and oversee operational functions, including withdrawals, renewals and cash back loans, in line with company and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure all new and existing Deposits products fulfil statutory requirements, including strict adherence to the Finance Business Act, CBSL Directions and AML/CFT Regulations.
- Develop and execute robust product strategies for debit card operations.
- Oversee the end-to-end launch of new card products, optimize portfolio performance, profitability and customer engagement.
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in Banking, Finance, or Marketing; an MBA or relevant professional qualification (CIM, CIMA, or Banking/IBSL) is preferred.
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in fund mobilization with minimum 5 years in a senior managerial capacity within a Bank or NBFI.
- Knowledge of CBSL rules, portfolio management, and digital banking platforms.
- Excellent command of English and Sinhala; proficiency in Tamil is a distinct advantage.
- Strong leadership, negotiation and strategic thinking capabilities backed by high integrity.
