Assistant Manager - Branch Operations

JOB SUMMARY:
Overall responsibility to ensure branch activities align with company policies and regulatory standards by diligently monitoring lending, pawning, and deposit workflows, managing staff performance, and overseeing audit remediation. This role manages these functions within defined service level agreements to achieve the strategic objectives of operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
JOB PROFILE:
- Monitor end-to-end operational workflows for all products, including lending, pawning, fixed deposits (FDs), savings accounts, and gold loan operations.
- Ensure timely processing of supplier and customer payments related to lending products, and monitor the accuracy and completeness of lending files from branches.
- Prepare monthly performance dashboards, conduct efficiency tests, evaluate staff performance against turnover benchmarks, and develop performance improvement initiatives.
- Review audit reports to identify non-compliance issues, execute corrective/preventive actions, and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
- Conduct routine branch inspections and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure strict compliance with all regulatory and risk management frameworks relevant to the financial services sector
PERSONAL PROFILE:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in Management, Finance, Administration, or Banking, or passed GCE (A/L) with full or part qualification in SLIM/CIM/CIMA or equivalent.
- Minimum 05 years of experience in the Non-Banking Financial Service Sector. Proven experience in business transformation, change management, or process improvement will be an added advantage.
- Conversant with the provisions of the Financial Companies’ Governing Acts and the Central Bank rules and regulations.
- Sound knowledge on all business products and branch procedure in the Non-Banking Financial Service Sector.
- Excellent command of English and Sinhala languages; ability to speak Tamil will be a distinct advantage.
- Possesses excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
