Imports Executive

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Imports Executive to manage end-to-end import operations while ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal procedures. This role plays a critical part in ensuring seamless coordination between suppliers, banks, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders to support smooth flow of goods, cost efficiency, and documentation accuracy.

Job Profile
  • Manage end-to-end import operations including documentation, shipment handling, and regulatory compliance.
  • Obtain and maintain marine insurance for shipments, process claims, and coordinate surveys where required.
  • Coordinating with suppliers, commercial banks, freight partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely product availability, cost efficiency, and seamless import execution.
  • Coordinate with commercial banks on LC issuance, amendments, TT processing, DA/DP arrangements, and shipping guarantee management while ensuring compliance with international trade finance practices.
  • Review shipping and banking documents to ensure compliance and minimize discrepancies, delays, and additional costs and maintain accurate import trackers, MIS reports, and ERP system updates.
  • Ensure proper PO creation, amendments, and maintenance of shipment and documentation registers.
  • Identify shipment discrepancies and work with relevant parties to resolve claims and recoveries.

Personal Profile
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in import operations, international trade, logistics, supply chain, or trade finance-related functions.
  • Up to date knowledge of UCP 600, URC 522, Incoterms 2020, and import/export documentation procedures will be a distinct advantage.
  • Knowledge of marine insurance processes, claim handling, and shipment discrepancy resolution will be an added advantage. 
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements, with proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems, excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with multiple stakeholders, and strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines efficiently.
