Job Profile
To supervise, coordinate and leading plant mechanical team, managing mechanical breakdown, maintenance activities within the plant, ensuring machinery and equipment operate efficiently with minimum downtime & maintaining compliance with all safety standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily mechanical maintenance activities of the plant.
- Lead and guide fitters, welders, technicians, and contractors to ensure maintenance work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Attend machine breakdowns and coordinate immediate corrective actions to minimize production downtime.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
- Ensure daily maintenance checklists, job cards, and maintenance records are properly completed and updated.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for reliability improvement.
- Coordinate plant shutdown maintenance activities and equipment overhauls.
- Ensure availability and proper utilization of maintenance tools, equipment, and spare parts.
- Inspect completed maintenance work to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Train mechanical fitters to improve technical competency and performance.
- Engage with production and engineering teams to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
- Enforce industrial safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and housekeeping standards.
Job Requirements
- NVQ Level 4 or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience, including at least 1 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Experience in maintaining industrial plant machinery, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience in leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing or processing environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment reliability.
- Ability to supervise and manage maintenance teams effectively.
- Strong planning, organizing, and work scheduling skills.
- Ability to diagnose complex mechanical failures and implement corrective actions.
