Software Engineering , Artificial Intelligence Lecturers (Full Time / Part-Time) – Pearson HND Programmes
Role Description
We are seeking Full-Time and Part-Time Lecturers to deliver Pearson Higher National Diploma (HND) Programmes in Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence. This is an on-site role based in Colombo. Responsibilities include delivering lectures, preparing course materials, guiding students through project-based learning experiences, and assessing student performance. Lecturers will also be expected to stay updated on developments within their field to enhance course content and quality.
What You Will Do
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical/lab sessions.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and structured presentations.
- Design and evaluate assignments, coursework, and project-based assessments.
- Provide timely marking, feedback, and academic support to students.
- Mentor students and support academic and career development.
- Integrate industry tools, case studies, and applied learning approaches.
- Ensure compliance with Pearson quality assurance and academic standards.
- Participate in moderation, standardisation, and academic coordination activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progression.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
What We’re Looking For
- Ability to communicate fluently in English.
- Strong knowledge and expertise in Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence.
- Proven experience in teaching, curriculum development, and both theoretical and practical instruction within these fields.
- Solid understanding of programming, algorithms, and machine learning principles.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex information to students.
- Experience with research and a proficiency in guiding students through high-level academic and capstone projects.
- Relevant academic qualifications such as a Master's degree in Software Engineering, AI, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle classroom and administrative duties.
- Prior teaching experience in HND or similar international programs is an advantage.
- Passion for education, mentorship, and supporting diverse student learning experiences.
Preferred: MSc
