POSITION OVERVIEW
The Site Supervisor Marine & Civil Construction will be responsible for supervising and coordinating day- to-day construction activities to ensure that project works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project schedules, and quality standards. The incumbent will oversee site personnel, subcontractors, and equipment while ensuring compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and health and safety regulations. The Site Supervisor will work closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Technical Officers, and other project stakeholders to ensure the successful execution and timely completion of marine and civil construction projects across Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years of experience in site supervision within marine, civil, infrastructure, or construction projects
- Diploma or NVQ in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Age 25 to 50 years
- Good communication skills in English and Sinhala; Tamil will be an added advantage
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and basic project reporting software
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities to ensure work is completed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Monitor the performance of site labour, subcontractors, and equipment to achieve productivity and quality targets.
- Coordinate the allocation of manpower, materials, tools, and machinery to ensure smooth site operations.
- Ensure all works comply with company quality standards, contractual requirements, and engineering specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify issues, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Maintain accurate daily site records, including work progress, labour attendance, material usage, and equipment utilization.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Technical Officers, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve operational issues and maintain project schedules.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and promote safe working practices at all times.
- Report project progress, delays, resource requirements, and site-related issues to management on a timely basis.
- Assist in the inspection and handover of completed works while ensuring project documentation is properly maintained.
