Steel Fabrication Technician - Browns Group Industrial Park (Pvt) Ltd | Katunayake
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings, fabrication plans, and project specifications
- Measure, cut, drill, grind, and assemble steel components accurately
- Perform welding, fitting, and fabrication work for steel structures and assemblies
- Ensure fabricated products comply with quality and safety standards
- Carry out repairs and modifications to existing steel structures when required
- Operate fabrication machinery, welding equipment, and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Support site installation and commissioning activities as required
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment
Requirements
- Certificate, Diploma, NVQ, or equivalent qualification in Fabrication, Welding, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in steel fabrication and welding
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings
- Knowledge of MIG, TIG, and Arc Welding techniques will be an added advantage
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good physical fitness and willingness to work at project site
Preferred Skills
- Experience in structural steel fabrication projects
- Familiarity with fabrication tools, machinery, and safety procedures
- Valid driving license will be an added advantage
