The Assistant Manager Corporate Affairs and Contract Administration will be responsible for matters relating to corporate affairs, contract administration and legal documentation within the company. The role requires advanced contract drafting skills, experience in contract negotiation and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. This position requires a strong understanding of commercial contract drafting and negotiation, an analytical mindset and the ability to handle sensitive and complex matters with professionalism and discretion.
Job Responsibilities
- Draft, review and manage commercial contracts, legal agreements and other complex legal documents.
- Prepare and review tender documents.
- Provide legal opinions and guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Liaise with legal advisers, government authorities, corporate entities, and local and international clients.
- Maintain and manage contract records and legal documentation
- Support internal departments on legal matters relating to contracts and corporate affairs.
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance while handling sensitive and confidential matters
Candidate Profile
- An LLB (Bachelor of Laws) from a recognized university, completed in English.
- Appointment as a Notary Public, with a valid license to practice in Colombo.
- Qualification as a Commissioner for Oaths.
- An LLM (Master of Laws) would be an added advantage.
- Four to six years' post-qualification experience in a corporate environment or a reputable law firm.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Sinhala.
- Strong contract drafting, negotiation and legal documentation skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication and critical-thinking abilities.
- Strong organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- A high level of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality.
