Senior Electrical Estimator – LV Switchboards | Remote (Sri Lanka)

As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator – Low Voltage Switchboards to join their team and contribute to technically accurate and commercially successful electrical projects.
SALARY: Negotiable
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review tender documentation, electrical specifications, customer requirements, and project drawings.
- Interpret Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), schematic diagrams, protection philosophies, and equipment schedules.
- Prepare detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) and complete project cost estimates.
- Develop labour estimates for engineering, manufacturing, wiring, assembly, and testing.
- Prepare quotations covering materials, labour, freight, testing, packaging, installation, subcontractors, contingencies, and project risks.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and recommend practical technical solutions.
- Prepare tender clarifications, assumptions, and exclusions.
- Support engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and project teams during project handover.
- Liaise with clients, consulting engineers, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure compliance with AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 61439, Service and Installation Rules (SIR), and relevant Australian Standards.
- Review equipment selection, protection devices, switchboard ratings, and fault levels.
- Assess enclosure requirements including IP ratings and segregation forms.
- Provide technical input and support for LV switchboard solutions.
- Maintain accuracy and compliance throughout the estimating process.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in LV estimating or switchboard engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Australian electrical standards and LV distribution systems.
Experience with:
- LV Switchboards, MSBs, MDBs, DBs, MCCs, ATS, PFC, renewable energy interfaces, and BESS.
- SLDs, schematics, protection coordination, busbar systems, fault calculations, voltage drop, thermal considerations, and arc flash awareness.
- Strong commercial estimating and engineering judgement skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines.
SOFTWARE SKILLS:
- AutoCAD
- EPLAN Electric P8
- SolidWorks Electrical
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Simpro and ERP systems experience is an advantage
