Data Governance Manager

The Opportunity
As a Data Governance Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, security, and compliance of our clients' data assets, as well as driving the development, implementation and promotion of data governance and quality frameworks and strategies.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and enforce data quality standards and processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data across all systems and platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data governance roles and responsibilities, and promote a culture of data stewardship and accountability.
- Conduct data governance assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and mitigate risks related to data management.
- Oversee the implementation of data governance tools and technologies to support data lineage, metadata management, and data quality monitoring.
- Provide guidance and support to business units on data governance matters.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on data governance principles and practices, and deliver training sessions to educate stakeholders on data governance concepts and requirements.
- Manage and deliver Data quality, governance and literacy programs and projects.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and developments in data governance, data privacy, and regulatory compliance, and ensure that our data governance practices remain current and effective.
- And support in growing our Data Management & Strategy practice and coaching junior data strategists.
Required Skills & Experience
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field, with at least 1 year in coaching junior resources and delivering data projects/program.
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, methodologies, and industry standards (e.g., PDPA, DAMA, GDPR).
- Proficiency in data management tools and technologies, such as data cataloging tools, data quality tools, and data governance platforms.
- Proven experience implementing Data Governance tools (Collibra, Informatica DQ, Ataccama).
- Hands-on experience designing governance workflows, operating models, data catalog organization, policy implementations, API connectors with data platforms such as data bricks, snowflake, SAP and data quality rule development and execution
- Have a good understanding on data regulations and their impacts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of relational databases, SQL is a must.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Al, Machine Learning, Data Science, IT, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
