Lead Engineer - IP Network Development and Operations (IP Core and ISP)

Job Purpose

Are you passionate about building, operating, and evolving large-scale IP networks that power millions of customers? We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Engineer - IP Network Development and Operations (IDC & Enterprise Services) - to join our Network Operations team and play a pivotal role in driving the development, optimization, and operational excellence of our IDC and Enterprise service delivery infrastructure.


In this role, you will provide technical leadership in network architecture, network transformation initiatives, service operations, fault management, automation, and continuous improvement while ensuring high levels of network availability, performance, scalability, and security.


The Job

  • Provide technical expertise in the planning, design, and evolution of IDC and Enterprise service delivery network.
  • Contribute to RFP evaluations, High-Level Designs (HLDs), and Low-Level Designs (LLDs).
  • Lead network modernization, integration, Automation and transformation initiatives.
  • Drive network optimization, scalability, resilience, and cost-efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure security and compliance requirements are incorporated into network designs and operations.
  • Provide Level 3 (L3) technical support for complex network incidents and service disruptions.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to restore services within agreed SLAs.
  • Monitor and improve network performance, availability, and customer experience.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) activities and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Troubleshoot complex IP/MPLS, ISP, routing, IDC, and IP transport network issues.
  • Develop proactive monitoring, fault detection, and predictive maintenance frameworks.
  • Analyze network performance trends and drive continuous operational improvements.
  • Assess and validate software releases, patches, and new network features.
  • Conduct impact assessments and risk analysis for network changes.
  • Define testing and implementation strategies to ensure successful deployments.
  • Identify opportunities for network automation and process optimization.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development of tools, scripts, and operational enhancements.
  • Develop technical documentation, operational procedures, and best practices.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and technical training across engineering teams.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in IDC & Enterprise service delivery network.


Entry Requirements

The Person

  • Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Master's Degree will be an added advantage.
  • CCNP certification is required.
  • CCIE certification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a telecommunications operator, ISP, or service provider environment.
  • Hands-on experience in IP/MPLS, IDC, ISP networks, routing and switching technologies.
  • Exposure to network automation, orchestration, and operational tools will be an advantage.
