Software Engineering Intern | Colombo, Sri Lanka (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

• Work on small, well-defined tasks under close guidance, including bug fixes, small feature development, report customization, and test data setup.
• Learn and work with the Frappe framework by creating simple DocTypes, writing basic scripts, building print formats, and developing reports.
• Write, execute, and maintain tests for the code you modify.
• Document features, prepare user guides, and create demo data for client demonstrations.
• Assist with data migration by cleaning, mapping, and importing client data into ERPNext.
• Participate in code reviews as a learner by receiving feedback and gradually contributing feedback.
• Collaborate with the team, ask relevant questions, take notes, and steadily take on more responsibilities.
• Contribute to web development and ERP-related tasks while gaining practical experience.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent qualification.
• Working knowledge of at least one programming language (Python or JavaScript preferred).
• Basic understanding of databases and SQL.
• Familiarity with Git through coursework or personal projects.
• Basic exposure to Frappe/ERPNext, web development, or Linux is an advantage.
• A personal project, GitHub profile, or portfolio demonstrating your work is an advantage.
• Interest in ERP systems, business software, or mobile application development.
• Genuine curiosity, willingness to learn, and commitment to writing quality code.
• Good communication skills in English and the ability to work effectively in a team.
