Assistant R&D Engineer | Pussellawa

We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant R&D Engineer to support our Industry 4.0 transformation initiatives at our tea manufacturing facility in Pussellawa. This role offers an opportunity to work on innovative technologies, process improvements, and digital transformation projects while collaborating with a team focused on building smarter, more efficient manufacturing solutions.

Salary: Rs. 120,000/=

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in designing, developing, and implementing Industry 4.0 solutions for tea manufacturing processes.
• Support research and development activities related to automation, lot, data analytics, and smart manufacturing initiatives.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Assist with the integration, testing, and maintenance of digital systems, sensors, and connected devices.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, reports, and project records.
• Support the implementation of automation and process optimization projects in the factory environment.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and operational teams to identify challenges and develop innovative solutions.
• Conduct testing and troubleshooting of new technologies and prototypes.
• Assist in monitoring system performance and suggesting improvements based on data insights. 
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and sustainability.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree (or currently pursuing) in Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Strong research, analytical, and presentation skills (written and verbal)
• Experience with simulation software such as ANSYS or SolidWorks will be a strong advantage
• Knowledge of Orthodox black tea manufacturing is an added advantage, but not essential
