Senior Quantity Surveyor - MVAC
The Senior Quantity Surveyor - MVAC will be responsible for MVAC design coordination, cost estimation, tender preparation, and commercial evaluation for commercial, industrial, and high-rise building projects. The role requires a combination of technical expertise and quantity surveying skills to deliver cost-effective, technically compliant, and commercially viable solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop detailed MVAC system designs, including chilled water systems, VRF/VRV systems, DX systems, ventilation systems, and exhaust systems.
- Perform heat load calculations using industry-standard software such as HAP, Carrier E20, or equivalent.
- Prepare ducting layouts, piping schematics, equipment schedules, and system selection calculations.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant local and international standards, codes, and project specifications.
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines to achieve integrated project solutions.
- Review and approve shop drawings, technical submissions, and material specifications.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, including material take-offs, labour costing, and subcontractor pricing.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Analyse technical and commercial proposals to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Prepare competitive tender submissions, including technical and commercial documentation.
- Identify value engineering opportunities to optimise project costs while maintaining quality and performance.
- Monitor project budgets and provide commercial support throughout the project lifecycle.
Candidate Profile
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in MVAC design, estimation, and quantity surveying.
- Proven experience in commercial, industrial, and high-rise building projects.
- Strong understanding of HVAC design principles, cost estimation methodologies, and tendering procedures.
- Proficiency in HAP, Carrier E20, AutoCAD, and other relevant HVAC design software.
- Strong knowledge of MVAC systems, equipment selection, and building services coordination.
