As part of our 25th Anniversary journey, The Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID), the apex body for corporate governance and director development in Sri Lanka, is seeking an experienced, energetic, and highly organized professional to join its Secretariat.
MANAGER – OPERATIONS & EVENTS
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the selected candidate will be responsible for the overall coordination of Secretariat operations, member services, training programmes, flagship events, administration, and operational excellence initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the SLID Secretariat.
- Oversee membership administration, subscription collections, renewals, and member engagement initiatives.
- Manage the planning and execution of all SLID events, forums,conferences, summits, training programmes, and member engagements.
- Coordinate Board Leadership Training (BLT), masterclasses, customized programmes, and director development initiatives.
- Supervise event logistics, registrations, delegate management, venues, vendors, and event budgets.
- Ensure accurate reporting, database management, operational tracking, and KPI monitoring.
- Manage office administration, procurement, contracts, service providers, and facilities.
- Supervise assigned Secretariat staff and ensure effective workflow management.
- Support the CEO in implementing strategic initiatives, operational plans, and Council directives.
- Drive continuous improvement, service excellence, and member satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Event Management, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operations, events, membership management, administration, or project management.
- Experience managing large-scale corporate events, conferences, forums, or professional body activities will be a distinct advantage.
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and AI productivity tools.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver under pressure.
- Preferred age group: 30 – 50 years.
