Job Summary:
The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating production planning and material requirements to ensure smooth and uninterrupted manufacturing operations at Alumex PLC, Sapugaskanda.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage production plans aligned with customer orders, sales forecasts, and capacity constraints to ensure on-time delivery.
- Coordinate with the sales, procurement, and warehouse teams to align material availability with production schedules.
- Monitor and control material requirements planning (MRP) to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory.
- Track production progress against planned schedules and initiate corrective actions to address deviations.
- Raise and follow up on purchase requisitions for raw materials, consumables, and other production inputs in a timely manner.
- Liaise with suppliers and the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of materials in accordance with production requirements.
- Identify bottlenecks in the production flow and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain accurate production and material planning reports, including daily, weekly, and monthly dashboards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to achieving overall plant productivity and cost targets.
The Ideal Candidate Should Possess:
- Completion of an ISMM certificate course, a diploma in production/supply chain management, or any other relevant qualification.
- Experience in a production planning, material planning, or supply chain role in a manufacturing environment will be an added advantage.
- Sound understanding of production planning concepts, MRP, and inventory management principles.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications; experience with ERP systems is desirable.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple departments.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
