Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and statements.
- Manage daily accounting transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with Sri Lankan Accounting Standards (SLFRS/LKAS) and tax regulations.
- Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, income tax, and other statutory returns on time.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Monitor cash flow and maintain financial controls.
- Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits.
- Maintain payroll records and support salary processing when required.
- Use accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) to maintain financial data.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualifications (CA, ACCA, CIMA, or partly qualified) will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or auditing.
- Skills & Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan tax laws and accounting regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
