Executive - Inventory Control
Purpose:
To manage inventory integrity, inventory control operations, and all Warehouse Management System (WMS) activities while ensuring inventory accuracy, transaction compliance, customer stock visibility, and effective coordination of receiving, put-away, picking, dispatch, and stock transfer processes across the warehouse.
Responsibilities:
Inventory Management
- Maintain overall inventory accuracy across the warehouse.
- Monitor stock balances and inventory movements.
- Conduct stock reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Review inventory adjustments and stock corrections.
- Manage cycle count programs and annual stock counts.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
WMS Administration and Control
- Manage all inventory-related transactions within the WMS.
- Ensure data accuracy and transaction integrity.
- Monitor system compliance and transaction completion.
- Coordinate system issue resolution with IT and software providers.
- Maintain inventory master data and location structures.
Receiving Monitoring
- Verify GRN accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor receiving transactions and inventory updates.
- Ensure timely recording of inbound inventory.
- Investigate receiving discrepancies and reporting exceptions.
Put-away Monitoring
- Monitor put-away completion and location allocation accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with warehouse storage strategies.
- Verify FIFO / FEFO implementation where applicable.
- Monitor space utilization and inventory placement.
Picking Monitoring
- Release customer orders and picking instructions through WMS.
- Monitor picking productivity and order completion.
- Investigate picking discrepancies and shortages.
- Ensure order fulfillment accuracy.
Dispatch Monitoring
- Verify dispatch documentation and shipment accuracy.
- Ensure outbound transactions are completed correctly.
- Monitor customer order dispatch performance.
- Ensure compliance with customer-specific dispatch requirements.
Stock Transfer Monitoring
- Monitor internal stock transfers and replenishment activities.
- Verify movement transactions and stock relocation activities.
- Ensure inventory traceability and transaction accuracy.
- Investigate transfer discrepancies.
Team Leadership and Coordination
- Lead and guide the Supervisor – Inventory Control and Inventory Controllers.
- Coordinate inventory control activities across all warehouse zones.
- Ensure inventory control procedures are consistently followed.
- Support operational departments in resolving inventory-related issues.
Customer Reporting and KPI Management
- Prepare customer inventory reports and stock statements.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly inventory KPI reports.
- Maintain inventory dashboards and performance metrics.
- Support customer audits and inventory reviews.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory processes.
- Develop and implement inventory control best practices.
- Support operational efficiency and inventory optimization initiatives.
