Supervisor - Inventory Control
Purpose:
To ensure inventory integrity, stock accuracy, compliance with inventory control procedures, and effective supervision of all inventory control activities across the warehouse. The role is responsible for managing the Inventory Controller team, maintaining inventory accuracy standards, coordinating stock verification activities, and ensuring all inventory transactions are accurately executed and monitored.
Responsibilities:
Team Management
- Supervise and manage Inventory Controllers across all warehouse zones.
- Allocate daily work assignments and inventory control responsibilities.
- Monitor team performance and productivity.
- Conduct daily briefings and operational reviews.
Inventory Accuracy Management
- Ensure inventory accuracy is maintained above company targets.
- Monitor stock discrepancies and inventory variances.
- Review inventory adjustments and reconciliation reports.
- Implement corrective actions to prevent recurring inventory issues.
Cycle Count Management
- Develop and manage cycle count schedules.
- Monitor completion of daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts.
- Review cycle count results and variance reports.
- Coordinate annual stock count activities.
Inventory Monitoring & Verification
- Monitor receiving, put-away, picking, dispatch, and stock transfer transactions.
- Verify compliance with inventory control procedures.
- Ensure location accuracy and inventory traceability.
- Monitor FIFO / FEFO compliance where applicable.
Audit & Compliance Management
- Coordinate internal and external stock audits.
- Support customer inventory audits and verification exercises.
- Ensure inventory records are maintained accurately.
- Prepare audit reports and corrective action plans.
KPI & Reporting Management
- Monitor inventory control KPIs.
- Prepare inventory accuracy and variance reports.
- Analyze inventory trends and identify improvement opportunities.
- Report inventory performance to the Executive – Inventory Control.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify process improvement opportunities.
- Recommend inventory control enhancements.
- Support implementation of warehouse best practices.
- Assist in developing inventory control SOPs.
