Fashion Buyer | Kotikawatta
Shades Fashion is a growing apparel and lifestyle fashion destination, offering stylish clothing for women, men, and kids, along with lifestyle essentials to customers across Colombo.
As a Fashion Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, selecting, and purchasing fashion products that align with our brand identity, customer demand, and business goals. You will support the buying process by researching market trends, working closely with suppliers, analyzing sales and inventory reports, and helping improve overall buying operations
Responsibilities
- Source, select, and purchase apparel products while negotiating prices with suppliers.
- Review and analyze sales and inventory reports to support informed buying decisions.
- Conduct weekly field visits to stores across different locations to collaborate with staff for research for better informed buying.
- Coordinate with suppliers by scheduling appointments for product viewings and deliveries, and communicate updates to the team.
- Stay updated on market and fashion trends and adapt buying strategies accordingly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of proven experience as a Fashion Buyer or in a similar buying, merchandising, or fashion retail role.
- Degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Business Management, or a related field.
- A creative mindset and strong understanding of clothing styles, fabrics, colors, and trends.
- Experience in supplier coordination, price negotiation, product sourcing, and stock planning.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple seasons, suppliers, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Must be available to travel to all store locations as needed.
