Senior Executive - Category buyer
Location: SPAR SL (PRIVATE) LIMITED
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and execution of category strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Negotiate with suppliers on pricing, margins, promotions, rebates, investments, and commercial agreements.
- Drive category sales and gross profit (GP) growth in line with company targets.
- Work closely with Demand Planners to ensure optimum stock availability and category performance.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships and ensure ethical sourcing practices.
- Support promotional planning, supplier-funded campaigns, and category reviews.
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and range gaps to identify opportunities.
- Assist with supplier evaluations, private label development, and continuous category improvement initiatives.
- Ensure product availability, quality standards, and effective merchandising support across outlets.
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in Procurement, Business Management, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in retail procurement, category management, or a similar role.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an Executive-level position.
- Proven experience in supplier negotiations and procurement activities.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
