Senior Executive – Imports

Automobile Technologies (Pvt) Ltd, the authorized agent of GAC Motor in Sri Lanka, is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Executive – Imports to manage and coordinate the end-to-end import process for vehicles, spare parts and related products. This role plays a vital part in ensuring timely imports while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the end-to-end import process for vehicles, spare parts and other automotive products
- Prepare and verify import documentation, including Letters of Credit (LCs), shipping documents, permits and customs-related documentation
- Liaise with overseas suppliers, shipping lines, freight forwarders, clearing agents, banks and regulatory authorities to facilitate timely imports
- Monitor shipment schedules and proactively follow up on vessel arrivals and delivery timelines
- Ensure compliance with Sri Lankan import regulations, customs procedures and other statutory requirements
- Coordinate with internal departments, including Sales, Spare Parts, Finance, Warehouse and Logistics, to ensure seamless operations
- Track import costs and maintain accurate records, reports and documentation
- Resolve shipment-related issues, discrepancies and delays in a timely manner
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management, International Trade or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in imports, international logistics, shipping or supply chain operations.
- Sound knowledge of import documentation, Letters of Credit (LCs), shipping procedures and Sri Lankan Customs regulations.
- Strong coordination, communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent analytical, planning and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working under tight deadlines.
