KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
EHS STRATEGY & LEADERSHIP
- Develop and implement EHS strategies, policies and procedures aligned with organizational goals.
COMPLIANCE & LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ensure compliance with Sri Lankan environmental, health and safety laws and other regulatory requirements.
RISK MANAGEMENT
- Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
- Monitor environmental performance, waste management, emissions control and sustainability initiatives.
SAFETY CULTURE & TRAINING
- Promote a proactive safety culture and conduct EHS training and awareness programs for all employees and contractors.
MONITORING & REPORTING
- Conduct audits, inspections and prepare EHS reports for management and regulatory authorities.
EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and ensure readiness across the organization.
STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
- Liaise with government authorities, regulators and external stakeholders on EHS matters.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Master's Degree / MBA will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 12-15 years of experience in EHS management in manufacturing or heavy industry.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and industrial safety standards.
- Proven experience in risk management, compliance and incident prevention.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional certifications in NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent will be an added advantage.
