Job Summary.
The Senior Accounts Assistant (Costing & Inventory) will be responsible for managing and analyzing product costing activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting and decision-making. This role involves maintaining cost data within the SAP ERP system, verifying Bill of Materials (BOM) and routings, performing monthly cost runs, and analyzing variances to support effective cost control. The position also supports management with timely preparation of cost reports, budgets, forecasts, and profitability analyses, while working closely with production, procurement, and finance teams to drive cost optimization and operational efficiency.
The main job functions of this position will include,
- Prepare and analyze cost reports, budgets, and forecasts to support management decision-making.
- Handle all costing-related functions within the SAP ERP environment
- Verify and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) and Routing accuracy
- Update and maintain standard costs in the system
- Perform monthly cost runs, analyze variances, and ensure accuracy of product costing
- Release costs for new items daily, including both legal and profit center valuations
- Prepare cost analysis reports and assist in management decision-making
- Prepare management reports, profitability analysis & cost-benefit evaluations
- Conduct variance analysis of production, overheads, and other cost components.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, and finance teams to streamline cost control processes.
The suitable candidate should possess,
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- Partly qualified in a recognized professional body such as CIMA, CA,ACCA, CMA, or equivalent
- Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience in cost accounting, financial analysis and Management Accounting (preferably in a manufacturing environment).
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Exposure to ERP systems (SAP) and advanced Excel / data analysis tools.
- Hands on experience in SAP (especially costing) is essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and a results-driven mindset.
