Executive - Sewing Technician
Job Responsibilities
- Analyze garment designs, tech packs, and specifications before production.
- Select suitable thread types, thread counts, needle types, and stitch classes for each garment style.
- Determine the best sewing methods and seam constructions based on fabric and design requirements.
- Develop and approve sewing standards for production.
- Work with pattern makers, sample developers, and production teams.
- Monitor sample development and ensure garments meet quality standards.
- Troubleshoot sewing-related issues such as seam puckering, thread breakage, skipped stitches, and seam slippage.
- Conduct garment construction reviews and recommend improvements.
- Train sewing operators and line supervisors on correct sewing techniques.
- Ensure compliance with buyer requirements and quality specifications.
- Support cost optimization by selecting efficient sewing methods and materials.
Candidate Profile
- Diploma/Degree in Apparel or Garment Technology.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in garment manufacturing.
- Thorough knowledge of thread selection, stitch types, seam construction, and garment assembly methods.
- Technical sewing experience on sports glove manufacturing would be added advantage
- Ability to analyze garment designs and recommend suitable sewing techniques.
- Experience in sample development and production support.
- Strong communication and team coordination skills.
