Factory Production Manager | Colombo
We are seeking an accomplished and results-oriented professional to join our team as a Factory Production Manager. The selected candidate will lead our production operations, driving manufacturing excellence and ensuring world-class standards in quality, efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, manage, and oversee daily vehicle production and assembly operations.
- Ensure production schedules are executed efficiently while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
- Lead and develop production teams, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor production performance, identify process improvements, and implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Engineering, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth production flow.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards, workplace safety regulations, and automotive manufacturing best practices.
- Optimize manpower, equipment utilization, and production costs while minimizing waste.
- Prepare production reports and provide operational insights to senior management.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Automobile Engineering (or a related discipline).
- Minimum 8 years of experience in production or manufacturing operations, including at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
- Previous experience in the automobile industry will be a distinct advantage.
- Candidates with experience in Manufacturing, Machinery, Engineering, Apparel, or other large-scale industrial sectors are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, Lean Manufacturing, 55, Kaizen, and quality management systems.
- Proven leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication and people management skills.
