Project Logistic Officer - Marine & Civil Construction

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Project Logistics Officer Marine & Civil Construction will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the movement of construction materials, equipment, machinery, and personnel to ensure uninterrupted project operations. The incumbent will work closely with project teams, suppliers, transport providers, and warehouse personnel to optimize logistics activities while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance with company procedures.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or materials coordination within the construction industry
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- Age 25 to 45 years
- Language Fluent in English (written and spoken); Sinhala/Tamil will be an added advantage
- Computer Proficient in MS Office Suite, Advanced Excel, ERP systems, inventory management Skills software, and logistics tracking systems
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and coordinate the timely procurement, transportation, storage, and distribution of project materials, equipment, and machinery.
- Liaise with suppliers, transport providers, customs authorities, and project teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate stock records to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
- Coordinate equipment mobilization and demobilization between project sites.
- Monitor logistics costs and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure all logistics activities comply with company procedures, contractual requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Prepare logistics reports, inventory summaries, delivery schedules, and material movement records.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure proper storage, handling, and issuance of project materials.
- Support emergency procurement and logistics requirements as project demands arise.
