POSITION OVERVIEW
The Environment Manager will lead the Company's environmental management function by ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, regulatory requirements, and international best practices. The incumbent will develop and implement environmental management systems while promoting sustainable construction practices across marine, civil construction, and real estate development projects.

Criteria Requirement
  • Minimum 8 years of environmental management experience within construction, marine, infrastructure, or industrial projects
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources Management, or a related discipline
  • Age 30 to 50 years
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); Sinhala/Tamil will be an added advantage
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, GIS software (preferred), environmental reporting systems, and document management software

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, implement, and monitor environmental management plans and sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals.
  • Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and risk assessments across project sites.
  • Coordinate Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and environmental monitoring programmes.
  • Liaise with the Central Environmental Authority (CEA), Coast Conservation Department, Marine Environment Protection Authority (MEPA), and other regulatory agencies.
  • Investigate environmental incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct environmental awareness programmes and training for employees.
  • Prepare environmental reports for management and regulatory authorities.
  • Promote sustainable resource utilization and waste management practices.
